Thought for the day

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."

CSI’s response to the issues of “Labour, Unemployment, Human Resource” in Telangana Region CSI SEVA

CSI SEVA, through its Justice and Empowering-Diakonia Perspective [JEDP] initiates a community-led resource lab in Parkal mission, aiming at pursuing measures that increase employment opportunities, especially for the landless labourers through reclaiming the land for cultivation, engaging unemployed / dropout youth, by providing employability skill training and a training cum production unit for a decent and dignified work environment for women, in and around Parkal. To make it as a movement, CSI SEVA organized and conducted a planning meeting on 12th April 2019 with the Rt.Rev.Dr.Reuben Mark, Bishop, CSI Karim Nagar Diocese and the Missionary-in-Charge of Parkal Mission, Rev.Shalu T. Matthew.

The economy of Telangana is mainly supported by agriculture, given the fact that the unorganized labours suffer from cycles of seasonality of employment and majority of the workers do not have a stable and durable avenue of employment.

Through this community-led resource lab, the Church ventures into,

  • reclaiming the waste land suitable for cultivation (involve landless laborers)
  • engaging unemployed and/or school dropout youth by providing employability skill training and
  • starting a training cum production unit for a decent and dignified work environment for women

This resource lab would engage landless laborers and unemployed youth, in discussion to understand their needs and deliver service and make their programs relevant and realistic, where inclusive and sustainable economic growth is likely, within the church and beyond.
