Skill Enhancement training for Rural Youth at Kollam-Kottarakara Diocese Youth

The CSI Synod Youth Department organized a Skill Enhancement Programme for the Rural Youths of Kollam-Kottarakara Diocese at YMCA centre, Kottiyam from 25th June to 27th June 2019.  The programme was commenced on 25th June at 11:30am with a word of prayer and got concluded by 27th afternoon.  The inauguration of the programme was held at 5pm by Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Oommen George, who gave the inaugural address and Bishop Rt. Rev. Roys Manoj Victor, the Chairperson of CSI Synod Youth Department, gave the Presidential Address. During those three days, the training programme was started with a morning devotion from the respective pastors of the Diocese. Shiju Skariya from Ernakulum was the resource person for this programme. He took 5 sessions for the youths that mainly aimed and focused on the 5 following topics:-

  • Self Confidence
  • Conflict Management
  • Public Speaking
  • Social Etiquettes
  • Career Development

The Skill Enhancement Programme helped the youths to develop their skills, abilities and competencies to enhance their performance in different levels. Every section of this training programme contained so many activities that gave the participants an opportunity to rediscover and confront their inner talents inorder to become more capable, competent and confident in themselves for the betterment of their performance in reaching out their specific goals. All the youths with lot of enthusiasm and great interests took part in all the activities conducted over there. As a whole, this programme provided oppurtunity and knowledge for the youths to develop and strengthen the necessary skills to gain, maintain and advance themselves in the overall quality of life.
