The Department of Mission and Evangelism of the Church of South India (CSI) Synod took part in the Christmas gathering organized by Diocesan Missionary Prayer Band (DMPB) on the 14th December 2020 at CSI Church Serapattu. The Meeting was well-organized by Rev. V. David Robby Jacob, General Secretary, DMPB, along with Rev. Ravi Rajan (DMPB Superintending Missionary-SM) and other Assistant Superintending Missionaries- ASM. Rev. Maxcin John, Synod Mission Director, shared Christmas and New Year Message. He reminded that Christmas is the opportunity to participate in the ongoing work and the mission of God. Furthermore, he stated that Christmas is the salvific action of God through Jesus Christ who is Immanuel -God is with us. We should rejoice in the Lord always. It is an experience of living out and witnessing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, the year 2021 could be the New Year to rejoice in the Lord, and he encouraged the participants to believe in that positivity. Rev. Godwin Balis translated the speech into Tamil. A Holy Communion Service was solemnized by the leadership of Rev. David Robby Jacob. Three hundred and fifty missionaries participated in the special occasion. It was the time for sharing Christmas gifts, greeting each other, rejuvenating fellowship and motivation to moving ahead. There was also a short visit to the Mission Centre in Puthiram Pettu.
