Thought for the day
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."
- Matthew 7:7-8
In the year 1979, the Protestant Christian families of Dasarahalli and neighbouring villages did not have a place for worship. At that time, people began to conduct the worship at a house under the leadership of Rev S Samuel. Later on it was conducted in a rented house. In the year 1995 the elders of the church informed the Bishop about a well facilitated site available for the construction of the church. Diocese guided and helped in purchasing this suitable place for worship. This played a very important role in the setting up of our church and the membership grew to 96 families which is still growing.
The existing Church building was dedicated on 26th January 2006. This church is referred as T.Dasarahalli Church. As there was no proper place to conduct Sunday school at the present Church premises, a site was purchased a few years back keeping in mind to have a Sunday School Hall. The construction of the same is taken up. I had the opportunity of laying the foundation stone for the CSI Kannada Devalaya Sunday School Hall on 17th November 2019 along with Rev Julian, the Presbyter In charge, Rev George Jaya Prabhu, The Associate Treasurer of KCD, members of the Pastorate Committee and the Congregation.
Soon after the foundation stone laying the construction work started with full swing. In First Stage they could complete Ground Floor & First Floor. Inspite of the Pandemic Covid-19 situation / Lockdown, the Building Committee was committed to complete the project. The Building was kept ready for Dedication by September end. Again, I had the opportunity of dedicating the CSI Kannada Devalaya Sunday School Hall on 11th October 2020 along with Rev Julian, the Presbyter In charge, Rev George Jaya Prabhu, The Associate Treasurer of KCD, members of the Pastorate Committee and the Congregation.
I praise God for the priority that this congregation is giving for the children so that they will be nurtured in the Values of the Kingdom of God. I am sure this Sunday school hall will invite the community for various activities and bring in peace and harmony.
God bless you
