Malabar Diocese Raised Special Flood Relief Fund by the Offertory on CSI Sunday Malabar

Malabar Diocese of the Church of South India celebrated the CSI Formation Sunday 23rd, the nearest Sunday to September 27th, the date the formation of CSI took place in 1947, in a unique way. Under the guidance of Rt. Rev. Dr. Royce Manoj Victor, the Bishop in the Diocese, all the congregations of the diocese contributed the Sunday Offertory to a Special Relief Fund to help Kerala, the Southern Stae in India, which was severely affected by the biggest flood in 100 years of the history. Rev. Dr. T. I. James, the Vicar of the Calicut Cathedral, informed that from the cathedral itself they were able to raise Rs. 35,000. Rev. N. K. Sunny (Clergy Secretary), Mr. Kenneth Laser (Lay Secretary), and Mr. Desmond Babu (Treasurer) of the diocese gave leadership to the fundraising.
